Some issues relating to the assessments are still valid (eg the
odd ergonomic controls, lighting too bright, etc.) and some problems
have been solved by the latest firmware. Unfortunately, sometimes when
they fix a problem in the firmware, they also seem to "pause".
I give AR / RCA credit they at least support the product with the
latest firmware (as of 3 / 2009, they have a version published in
12/2008 and 3 / 2009). Currently, in my experience, the product is a
little buggy with the current firmware version and I had some random
crashes, where it is either blocked or restarted. This is a real pain
because he lost the security key for the wifi, if it happens and it is
still too new to be entered. There is also a basic level of white noise
through the speakers, even after turning off the radio that I'm going
(see Tip: Once in the standby mode, turn the volume knob at the bottom,
and it will disappear with a pffft - then you put the volume in the
normal position so that you volume at the next party on the radio).
This device is better than I reviewed the unit iLuv elsewhere and could
be very good if they always bring a good version of the firmware on the
rails.
