This objective has only two "mistakes". First, it is bulky and heavy - quality construction, there is often a heavy lens. Secondly, if the photographer, the results that this can happen has seen, it is likely that he or she is unhappy with the other objects in the camera bag.

Initial results: pictures are razor sharp with this on my Nikon D70 mounted zoom. I do not have the pictures I have never before, because the goal is so crisp that the volunteers can be placed at a distance, but cultivated to produce together a narrow acceptable image. Look considered more normal distances are breathtaking Sharp - as if the shot perfectly with a prime lens. It is an objective, fast (2.8) throughout its zoom range. It's almost more importantly, has this objective is best "bokeh" I've never lived in a lens. "Bokeh", as I understand the concept (it is a Japanese word that means "fuzzy") is a word that describes whether the out-of-focus portion of an image (eg, blurred background of an image in which only the topic is in the discussion) has a nice look to it. This lens produces beautiful creamy bokeh. The sharpness and bokeh, combined with the excellent interpretation of the bright colors of the lens, making it a classic.

I have sometimes experienced minor ghosting on this lens when taking a very bright, ie, before the sun reflecting on the ocean. There is a deficit for a single optical zoom lens of a variety of elements, and sometimes I have experience. But such opportunities are rare.

The effect of these auto-focus lens is very good. Even birds with long distances, usually produce a quick, snappy auto focus lock on my Nikon D70 to. It is very rare that "hunting" for the AF lock, and these cases probably due to driver error and not tickets to the target. The lens also has Vibration Reduction (VR) that it can produce on an acceptable image below this F/2.8 otherwise appropriate. The VR really works, even if it is not a panacea for low light conditions.

This is one of Nikon's professional goals, and build quality is excellent. Criticism is mounting in the metal, and the lens is built like a tank. The lens is equipped with a touch of Nice-style lens cap, and a very good lens hood can be reversed for storage.

The reader can see that I am very impressed with this lens. The reason is that despite its size and weight, this lens is the best picture of nature that I shall never quite managed to produce by far.
