Panasonic PT-AE4000U LCD XGA 16:9 1600 Lumens HDmi Svid 16.1LBS Hdtv

By

This is the second video projector I have bought ever since I built my home theater 17 years ago, but I must say, it is a stunner. I am sure that any buyer would be very happy. I am!

I have a Sharp XV-S250ZU vision projector, I bought in 1992. It was "state-of-the-art" in his time and was still a satisfactory picture, with the exception of the fact that the LCD panels have deteriorated (biological). Although they can be replaced (and I can not do that) in one day, the cost would be high, and I still basically a projector 1992nd

Knowing that I would replace the Sharp Vision, I began to do research on projectors from 2007. I quickly rectified, single-chip DLP projectors, such as after a whole series of them, I discovered that my wife and I are especially sensitive to the rainbow, "" significant impact of this type projector. We are looking especially older black and white films of the rainbow "effect is particularly evident with this type of programming.

I also quickly eliminated 3-chip DLP projectors terribly due to their high cost.

Focusing on the 3-panel LCD projectors, I am in two models: the Epson EMP V11H337020 Home Cinema 8500 LCD Home Theater Projector, and the latter, the Panasonic PT AE4000U - LCD projector - 1600 ANSI lumens - 1920 x 1080 - widescreen - High Definition 1080p. Both panels use inorganic and therefore much more than my previous Sharp Vision.

The choice was difficult - I did not see any chance that either "in the flesh, but by the read what I (and I read a lot), it seems that for our type of representation (both older and newer movies, no television or games) and our website (completely obscured [less than 5% of the ambient lighting] home cinema), it would be the best of both. Nearly all the guests have said that Panasonic produces more "film-like image than the Epson (although they according to these critics, they are) close enough.

I must say that our television is not in our current home theater, and we do not have a Blu-ray. (We do not watch the Oscars every year in our theater.) At this stage we still consider that the standard-definition sources (DVD, laser disc, and, believe it or not, S-VHS and VHS tapes! ). So I can not comment at this time to 1080i or 1080p images (our home theater amplifier, a Yamaha RX-Z9 bought in 2004 had no HDMI, so I'm not with those on the projector that at least now, in conjunction I connect to the video output of the amplifier to the projector via an S-video). I do not know if and when we get an HD source or sources: standard definition looks spectacular in our theater, so we see no urgent need to "upgrade" to.

I must say that I do not buy it from Amazon partner, as of this writing, are sold to the projector via its list price - and adds insult to injury of crosses on a charge excessively high costs, but many online merchants that no more than the price list and no shipping charges [see first on the name of the dealer from whom I have calculated bought this projector to sell]. (I could not find someone to update any of them now.) Frankly, I would like Amazon itself (and sold at list price or less). If they did I'd probably acquired, although I must say that the dealer from whom I have actually bought, gave me good service, almost certainly what you get d'Amazon.

Well, for the projector itself, it happened yesterday, then I (about five hours was generally limited) experience with it so far, but I can tell you that setting up a fast and easy and the picture's production "literally running struggle to find a LCD (or DLP) projector I've ever seen.

The contrast is excellent and blacks in scenes from movies in color or black and white movies are really good at with deep blacks and good detail. I have not seen), a recent movie with the ending theme (white letters on a black background, I can not comment on - but, frankly, are the black levels, important for some commentators are not at all important to us.

The color is breathtaking!

And the picture is stunning - far better than any LCD or plasma flat "TV screen I saw (and I have seen, many of them" home theater room and in the homes of the people "). Only a few old" high-end CRT TVs can be a vibrant color palette, as this projector to produce, at least in my experience.

I have some fundamental changes in the color - I compared (several options and I found that the film 1, is truly appreciated by some commentators, is not satisfactory for me at least this time, the colors are not busy - they are not "colored "). I'm currently with color 1 color film, but [my first update below]. For black-and-white film 3 looks very good. (I THE WAR OF THE WORLDS [1953], showing particularly strong in the paint, and an episode of the Untouchables TV to an excellent black-and-white camera and has many dark scenes.) But I have a lot more experimentation to prior to the decision positive for the fixed settings (try though I'm pretty sure that I will continue with color 1 to color photos - it produces really nice images). We (some of the following: WHOOPEE [1930], an early two color Technicolor feature-saw, Raiders of the Lost Ark [1981], 2.35:1 widescreen and the color of her beauty - and its spectacular, and my favorite YEAR [1982] 1.85:1 and with good colors.)

I left function automatically detects the format (default), then do not recognize the projector, 4:3 and 16:9 programs and the screen size automatically, on my 16:9 screen. I have also in the lens memory setting in Cinemascope [2.35:1 Panavision] welcome on my screen and it works perfectly.

Incidentally, I was able to change more and more unable to read Manual of Operations. This projector is easy to use! (I will read the instructions and you will see the CD-ROM today.)

I could say I do not see a pixel, even if I'm only two or three feet of my screen. The screen is a Da-Lite pearl, purchased in 1992 and is 110 "diagonal. Throwing the" "is 19 meters.

Some commentators have pointed out that this projector is as bright as others, including the Epson I mentioned earlier. But for me the brightness of the Panasonic is more than enough, I can reduce the ecological setting, the brightness and offers an average life of 3000 hours on bulb over their activities in use Normal framework, which is only 2000 hours. I'm using this setting, Eco, should the brightness is insufficient due to the aging of the lamp, can I still go on to normal. Of course I do not know for some time. (I bought a replacement bulb, which I recommend to every buyer as well.)

After almost all the comments that I read when) you make a video projector in several places, dark rooms and bright rooms (eg, a living room during the day, the Epson and a number of other projectors might be a better choice. (I can not comment on personal experience, however.)

But if you plan on only one projector in a darkened room (one Home Cinema) to use, as I do, I realize that if you can get maximum performance at a good value, better you than it is.

I give my highest recommendation and thank you for reading this.
